ABOUT ME
Mehul Sharma, Product Designer
I’m a designer who makes complex technology simple. At AV, I design intuitive systems for aerospace and defense that reduce friction, accelerate development, and empower teams to work at scale. My work always focuses on making sophisticated technology feel natural to use.
I studied Cognitive Science – Design & Interaction at UC San Diego, where I combined my fascination with how people think with my drive to build products that work in the real world. That mix of psychology and design still fuels my approach today. I focus on clarity, usability, and systems thinking to create tools that support people, not overwhelm them.
Beyond design, I keep creative through pottery, clay, and film photography. I mentor new designers through BobaTalks, volunteer as a guest ambassador at the San Diego Zoo, and teach yoga. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with homemade coffee syrups, always exploring new flavors, just like I do with design.
WHAT ARE MY VALUES
Make things easy
Too often, product development prioritizes stakeholders over users, but I push for a different approach. The best products aren’t just functional; they’re intuitive, enjoyable, and, most importantly, easy to use.
Stay curious
I love learning new things and improving my skills in any way possible. In the past year, I've nurtured my creativity and innovation through Stanford's creative certificates & am now working integrating AI in my workflow.
Be kind
Be nice to people. Spend time getting to know individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives to learn more about the world and how you can help others.
